This spacious former cow shed situated on the owner's working farm in rural Yorkshire has been wonderfully converted to provide the ideal escape for a couple to explore this stunning part of Yorkshire.

Nestled on the edge of Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this rural barn conversion is ideally situated for walkers of all abilities. With so many tracks and trails nearby, you will be spoilt for choice. The stunning scenery of the Yorkshire Dales National Park is close by, as are the magnificent formations at Brimham Rocks, only 1.5 miles from this cottage. The vibrant spa town of Harrogate is only an 8-mile drive away where you can browse the shops and cafes or grab a bite to eat at one of the many pubs and restaurants. Other great days out nearby include Fountains Abbey and Ripley Castle, both within 10 miles, and slightly further afield at 25 miles away, the ancient city of York.

Stepping into this spacious barn conversion, you are greeted by an entrance hall, the perfect place to leave coats and muddy boots after a winter’s walk. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner has French patio doors where, on a nice day, you can open the doors and admire the lovely views. Sit on the comfortable sofas or at the dining table and unwind after a long day exploring. The kitchen area is equipped with everything you need, including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The bedroom is large and boasts a super-king-size zip-and-link bed (can be made up as twins on request). To complete the property is a bathroom with shower over the bath and WC.

Externally, there is a private patio area with furniture, a charcoal BBQ and a large, shared, lawned garden with beautiful views over the surrounding countryside. Guests have access to a shared utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. There is off-road parking for one car and secure cycle storage available.

Excellent cottage in lovely location. Owner super-helpful and provided a lot in the way of bread, jam, teabags, coffee etc. Ideal for me as disabled person and the dog with lovely walks (with my wife) nearby.

This is a lovely cottage on a working farm in a secluded rural location. We (and our dog!) were made very welcome by the host, Sue, who also gave some useful advice about attractions in the area. The gifts of milk, bread, cheese and other things which greeted us on our arrival were much appreciated. Thank you for a most enjoyable stay.

The cottage was very comfortable, well equipped and very warm. The location is perfect in the most beautiful countryside. Excellent week spent in Bracken cottage. The cottage was well equipped and very comfortable-we were made to feel very welcome by the owner who had provided a generous welcome pack and thought of everything we might need for our stay. The location was idyllic- so peaceful and restful but close to lots of lovely walks and places of interest.

The cottage is lovely with two spacious rooms, a nice bathroom and a patio with a wonderful view, a great place to relax. Sue and Peter are perfect hosts, welcoming but unobtrusive. The cottage is very comfortable, and spotlessly clean. A great base to tour the local area from Brimham Rocks, Fountains Abbey, Harrogate, Masham, Grassington and many Read moremore places. Fabulous clean spacious cottage in picturesque surroundings. The location is in the heart of glorious countryside and you're surrounded by cattle fields and also Sue's horses. It's a working farm so you really feel part of the country in you. The owners, Pete and Sue are so friendly and always around for a chat or to tell you about what goes on. What a beautiful cottage in a fantastic location. Very spacious and well equipped. Hosts very welcoming but very discreet. Sue the owner very friendly. The welcome pack was appreciated. Harrogate is a thriving, historic town at the heart of North Yorkshire and at the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. This fantastic town is a hit with culturists, historians and holidaymakers alike. Dubbed ‘The English Spa’ in 1596, the town boasts spa water high in iron, sulphur and salt. The Royal Pump Room is still open today as a museum, showcasing the original equipment that was used in its heyday. Two other major draws to the town are the Harrogate Convention Centre and the Great Yorkshire Showground.
