Harrogate

The quintessential spa town of Harrogate boasts a stunning mix of historical architecture, green open spaces and vibrant shops and eateries. Wander across the 200 acre stray to enjoy Bettys Café Tea Rooms, a local institution, with the windows enticingly filled with breads and scones, make the prospect of lunch or high tea irresistible. Harrogate's stylish shopping area boasts a fine selection of independent retailers, browse the antique shops and fashion boutiques. The splendidly restored Royal Baths, whose Moorish-style design dates back to the 1890s; is well worth a visit to enjoy a Turkish Bath.

Harrogate district

The countryside and villages that surround Harrogate are some of the most picturesque in England. The countryside is rich in beauty and ideal for walkers. Harrogate Holiday Cottages boasts beautiful properties in Bishop Monkton, Nidd, Beckwithshaw, Follifoot, Sicklinghall and Huby. These villages offer the best of both worlds situated in stunning rural settings but are all within an easy drive of Harrogate town centre and its attractions.

Ripon

One of England's smallest cities, Ripon is known for its historic buildings and beautiful Cathedral as well as traditional customs such as "setting the watch". This thousand year old ceremony takes place nightly at 9:00 p.m. with the blowing of the horn in Ripon Market Place.

Today Ripon retains its importance as a shopping and tourist centre, attracting visitors to its Minster, its impressive market place and the many attractions in the surrounding area, including the World Heritage site of Fountains Abbey and Newby Hall.

Nidderdale – The Yorkshire Dales

Rightly proud of its place within the Dales, Nidderdale is for many the favourite Dale. It truly deserves its status as an "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty", with its stunning moorland scenery and tapestry of lush green meadows.

Bordered by the Yorkshire Dales National Park, a base in Nidderdale offers the archetypal Yorkshire holiday experience; fantastic walking opportunities, combined with cosy inns and quaint tea shops.

Knaresborough

A delightful market town brimming with character, perched at the top of a gorge. With the boating and café's on the River Nidd, the remains of an ancient castle and riverside walks, there's always lots to do. The conveniently located railway station and good road links means that access to Harrogate, York and Leeds is very quick.

Wetherby

The vibrant and stylish market town of Wetherby is an ideal location to explore Yorkshire, conveniently situated near the main A1 south to north road. The town sits on the River Wharfe and there are beautiful riverside walks and the town centre is full of interesting independent shops, coffee shops and restaurants. Wetherby is 12 miles from Leeds, 12 miles from York and 8 from Harrogate. Rewarding days out to the Yorkshire Dales, the North Yorkshire Moors and the East Coast are easily arranged from Wetherby.
