BARN ELM LODGE

Summary

Ideal for families and groups of friends, set in 8 acres of gorgeous grounds, Barn Elm Lodge is a detached converted stables nestled next to the owner's house in the centre of the picturesque village of North Rigton. Here you will find yourself perfectly placed for rural peace and quiet, walking and cycle routes but with easy access to the beautiful spa town of Harrogate (just 10 minutes drive or train ride away) and vibrant Leeds city centre (20-25 minutes away).

Accommodation

Barn Elm Lodge is located in the heart of the village of North Rigton, just a couple of minutes walk from a very popular village dining pub, The Square & Compass. The local train station is less than 5 minutes drive away (Weeton) where Leeds or Harrogate are just a few stops away.  A direct train to York also runs twice an hour (a 40 minute journey).   It is rare to find somewhere which is so private and rural, whilst still so accessible.

From the front door there is a large hallway off which is a well equipped boot and laundry room complete with dehumidifier and racks for drying any walking boots or clothes. The boot room also has flat access from the car parking area and is suitable for guests with limited mobility. There is an open spacious lounge with TV and bi-fold doors providing excellent views of the woodland beyond. The sunny patio can be accessed from both the lounge and kitchen.

There is a a door from lounge to dining/kitchen complete with fridge, freezer, dishwasher and microwave, induction hob and electric oven. A dining table for 8 guests is located in the kitchen with access to the patio via bi-fold doors.  A corridor leads to ground floor bedroom with king size bed and shower room opposite with heated towel rail, walk in shower, basin and toilet. Off this corridor is a separate house WC.

Upstairs there is a delightful light area which can be utilised as a second lounge/bedroom 4 area with gorgeous garden views through the floor to ceiling windows. This space is an ideal childrens' play area, with a sofa, TV, games and a Brio train set for guests' use.  It also has a single bed and pull out bed underneath (£25 charge for pull out bed).   The property is not overlooked at all and there are no window dressings in this room - so if you are utilising the beds and are light sensitive, eye masks would be advisable. Please note this is a through room to connect with the other bedrooms. (See pictures)

Upstairs are two further bedrooms; a king sized bedroom with wardrobe space and a double bedroom. These bedrooms share a shower room with large shower, bidet, heated towel and toilet.

The owners are very happy for you to explore the paddocks and woodlands with your dogs or children. If you would like to feed the hens, collect the eggs or pick seasonal produce from the vegetable patch this can easily be arranged.   Almscliffe Crag is a popular climbing and walking attraction and is a very pleasant 20 minute walk away.

Thanks for a great weekend we have had a lovely time and the house is great. The views from the windows are lovely and it is a very peaceful and relaxing place to stay. We can recommend the food at the pub over the road and had a lovely time at the Turkish Baths. It was lovely that Ian brought us fresh eggs from the hens just as we were cooking breakfast...Looking forward to visiting again.
