From Yorkshire with love

As a team of locals, we thought we'd share some of our favourite recommendations of things to do in and around Harrogate.

Almscliffe Cragg
A fantastic walk, great for kids and dogs. Kicking off our recommendations with a free activity, a yomp up Almscliffe Cragg is a gorgeous walk. For a 3 mile round walk, we recommend parking in The Square & Compass pub car park, North Rigton and then following the footpath up the Cragg. It’s within walking distance of the following properties but also within an easy 10 minute drive from Harrogate. Follow the path through the fields and enjoy a bracing climb to the top of this impressive limestone formation. Sit a while and enjoy far reaching views then return for a meal at the pub which is dog and child friendly and serves food all day. Alternatively, pop a short drive in the car for quite simply one of the best bacon butties you’ll ever eat to The Local Pantry - It’s also a good spot to pick up some locally prepared food to enjoy back at your property.

Fodder
If you enjoy eating local then you should definitely include a trip to Fodder at the Yorkshire Showground, there’s a superb butcher and tons of the locally produced products, along with great café and gift shop. Properties located near by to Fodder include the new Lodge at Old Orchard Cottage
and the popular Braham Cottage.

Valley Gardens
Having fairly recently moved to the centre of Harrogate, from one of the surrounding villages Alison is really enjoying all that town life offers. One of her favourite weekend past times it to walk her dogs through The Valley Gardens (Harrogate’s gorgeous park) following the path up to Harlow Carr RHS, to browse the gift shop and pick up a coffee and a fat Rascal (that’s a big fruity scone!) from Betty’s Harlow Carr. We have some fabulous properties around The Valley Garden area some of our favourite’s include;
The Toffee WorksPinewoods Royal Hall Apartment Octagon Court and
