Farmer's Markets in Yorkshire

The great thing about a self-catering break is that you've the time to enjoy cooking a meal. Even better, particularly if using fresh local produce, so why not support a local farmers' market during your stay so you can grab the best?

Here's a list of market's in the local area;

  • In Harrogate the Farmers Market happens every 2nd Thursday of the month on Cambridge Street.
  • In Knaresborough there’s a Farmers Market every 3rd Saturday of the month in the market place.
  • In Skipton, on the 1st Sunday of the month there’s a Farmers Market, on the main street.

Knaresborough Market

Each Wednesday the historic Market Town of Knaresborough earns its name by hosting a market that reflects the true taste of Yorkshire with an immense selection of locally grown seasonal harvest, Yorkshires meat and fish, a vast collection of local cheeses and beers and of course traditional Yorkshire Pork Pies. Furthermore, there’s a wonderful range of stalls selling everything from handbags to hardware.

Ripon Market

The market at Ripon city’s lovely marketplace happens every Thursday, kiosks opening from 9am through to 4pm. The market specialises in a variety of local produce from fruit & vegetable stalls, to pet products and clothing.

Masham Market

An attractive market town of Masham, comes to life every Wednesday and Saturday when the weekly Masham Market rolls in, bringing the best of local Wensleydale market trades together to the cobbles of the market square. The market offers the chance to purchase delightful cheeses, great meats and other great food and drink – especially the Black Sheep Brewery which is just round the corner!
