Masham is a popular town sitting in lower Wensleydale. There is so much to do in the local area, there's little need to travel far afield. Masham is home to two local breweries and a gin distillery; book a tour around, distil your own handcrafted bottle of gin and sample some of their wares. The town itself boasts four public houses and a choice of venues to dine in. It has one of the largest market squares in the country, with market days on Wednesdays and Saturdays. You are perfectly placed for discovering all of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors National Parks and the quaint market towns of Richmond (14 miles) and Leyburn (11 miles).

Stepping inside, be greeted by a very cosy lounge room with a wood burner at its heart. Settle down on the large, comfortable sofa to enjoy a movie on the Smart TV or a board game. The lounge is open to the bright and spacious kitchen/diner which offers an excellent social space with stone floors and a large table to gather around at mealtimes. Sit at the table, drink in hand while the chef of the group prepares a Yorkshire feast, perhaps with some produce from the market. the kitchen is equipped with an induction hob, 2 electric ovens, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. Enjoy a post-dinner coffee from the Nespresso coffee machine. There is a handy utility room that houses a washing machine and a tumble dryer; it’s also a great space for wet coats and muddy boots. When it's time to turn in, there are four bedrooms to rest your head: a downstairs king-size bedroom with a feature fireplace; and upstairs - a king-size, a double with private en-suite bath with a shower over and a WC, and finally a twin room. After a long day walking, enjoy a luxurious soak in the beautifully finished main bathroom with bath, separate walk-in shower and WC. S

tep outside onto the patio paved with Yorkshire flagstones - the enclosed patio offers a seating area that is perfect for supper outside or a lazy afternoon. There is also secure storage for your bicycles. On-street parking subject to availability.

Excellent accommodation.....very clean and easy to settle in. Lots great info/maps etc. Parking on street so grab any free space. Great access to rear of cottage. Great for bikes and walking out and back. Town pubs .....not the most welcoming but nearby villages all good pubs especially Black Swan in Fearsby. Would definitely return and rebook.

Harrogate is a thriving, historic town at the heart of North Yorkshire and at the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. This fantastic town is a hit with culturists, historians and holidaymakers alike. Dubbed ‘The English Spa’ in 1596, the town boasts spa water high in iron, sulphur and salt. The Royal Pump Room is still open today as a museum, showcasing the original equipment that was used in its heyday. Two other major draws to the town are the Harrogate Convention Centre and the Great Yorkshire Showground. The former is a multi-purpose venue large enough to house huge conventions and business conferences. Many of the events are fan-based like the Lego-themed attractions and comic-cons. The latter is an outdoor venue that hosts even large events and shows, namely the agricultural Great Yorkshire Show.

Fancy a day of walking? Head to the Valley Gardens, home to a multitude of landscaped gardens that embrace different styles and influence. For further horticultural foray, head to the RHS Garden, Harlow Carr. The stunning gardens provide a leafy retreat where you can wander through woodland and alongside waterways.

The town centre is home to an array of boutique fashion shops, as well as high street favourites in and around the Victoria Shopping Centre. The Montpellier Quarter also offers exclusive shops and a huge range of antique dealers, ideal for hunting out a unique bargain. This fashionable spa town also plays host to many Michelin-starred restaurants too.

There is a host of places to visit and spend time at in and around Harrogate. We have a selection of holiday homes that include chic apartments, elegant townhouses and cosy cottages for romantic stays to inspire your break in Harrogate. Why not visit our collection to find your perfect property?
