Keen walkers will love how close this property is to The Nidderdale Way, a wonderful 53-mile circular walk that rewards hikers with breathtaking views over the Dale. There is a great selection of local attractions and natural landscapes all within easy driving distance, including Brimham Rocks and the famous Three Peaks of Whernisde, Ingleborough and Pen-Y-Ghent.


Inside, you'll find a stunning open-plan living area housing the lounge, kitchen and dining area. There's warm wooden flooring throughout and unparalleled views over the surrounding countryside from the floor to ceiling sliding doors. The lounge includes a feature wall filled with sporting memorabilia, giving the room a real sense of fun, whilst the contemporary wood burner is a wonderful focal point and will keep toes toasty warm on even the chilliest of evenings. There are countless charming Yorkshire towns and villages close by including Pateley Bridge (11 miles) and Ilkley (18 miles) where you'll find among other delights, the oldest sweet shop in England, a Michelin-starred restaurant and the quintessentially Yorkshire tea room of Bettys. Indulge in a buttery Fat Rascal here before a pleasant stroll along the River Wharfe.

No trip to this corner of Yorkshire would be complete without a day out in Harrogate (6 miles). This elegant Victorian Spa town is bursting at the seams with antique shops, cafes, independent boutiques and restaurants. The RHS Gardens at Harlow Carr are a must-see too.

When it comes to dining, you'll find no shortage of excellent gastro pubs and restaurants in the area including many fantastic restaurants, cafes and on-the-pulse delis in Harrogate itself.

This was a really lovely find perfect for a weekend break for 4 friends. Really well equipped and cosy - but also stylish. The owners live next door and were lively and helpful and even dropped us off to the start of our walk. Would definitely recommend.

Perfect cottage that is modern but with some quirky features that adds some additional fun to our stay. Its set in a beautiful location overlooking the valley on the south side so you get most of the sun, it was so quite at night with only the hoot of the owls to wake you! The log burner was excellent and a lovely feature, although we generally madRead moree the cottage so hot we had to open the doors!! It's always hard to decide, which place/town/county to visit and either in which property to stay. Only some pictures to get a kind of idea how it may can be. So: This cottage is simply perfect. It's not well equipped, it's completely equipped. Located in a perfect place with the most wonderful hosts you can imagine. Bodacious!

Excellent cottage with kind and friendly hosts. Brilliant and stunning location. We had amazing weather and really enjoyed using the garden/ terrace spaces associated with the cottage. Our kids loved everything too (including the Easter eggs provided)!

This is our second stay at The Platform and we've thoroughly enjoyed it again. We feel at home and relaxed straight away. Opening the patio doors and you've got nature on your doorstep. We've seen woodpeckers, pheasants, buzzards, deer, squirrels all within a few feet. A short walk to the village centre and you've got everything you need. We had the most fantastic week at the platform in April 2018. The cottage is so nicely done out, comfortable and fully equip with everything you need. We had all weather's meaning we could make use of the log burner and sit out enjoying the wildlife in the garden all within the same week. The location is perfect for accessibility to Harrogate, but Read moreis also nicely tucked away in the country for a quieter experience overall. Local villages host fantastic pubs and restaurants for evenings out.We were made to feel so welcome by the cottage owners and would absolutely love to visit again in the future. Harrogate is a thriving, historic town at the heart of North Yorkshire and at the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. This fantastic town is a hit with culturists, historians and holidaymakers alike. Dubbed ‘The English Spa’ in 1596, the town boasts spa water high in iron, sulphur and salt. The Royal Pump Room is still open today as a museum, showcasing the original equipment that was used in its heyday. Two other major draws to the town are the Harrogate Convention Centre and the Great Yorkshire Showground. The former is a multi-purpose venue large enough to house huge conventions and business conferences. Many of the events are fan-based like the Lego-themed attractions and comic-cons.
