Stylish cottage situated in a perfect position for exploring all the culture that York offers. It retains original features and is furnished with eye catching fabrics and trendy up-cycled furniture.

The city of York boasts an abundance of things to do, so whether its history, shopping or culture, York really does have it all. The National Railway museum and York Art Gallery  are a must see. Visit the renowned Betty’s Tea Rooms, Clifford’s Tower, or take a walk around the City Walls, enjoy a riverboat cruise down the River Ouse and see the city from a different perspective. Due to the location of the cottage York can easily be reached by foot either taking in the sights or by taking a relaxing stroll down by the river to the city centre. The property is situated near Homestead Park which has a large play park for children and lovely gardens to relax in with a picnic. The shopping destinations at the Designer Outlet and Monks Cross are only a short drive away. The cottage also has easy access for venturing further afield towards the Yorkshire coast, the Dales, visiting lovely market towns or walking in the North Yorkshire Moors. An array of National Trust properties are on the doorstep in addition to Goddards, Benningborough Hall, Dalby Forest, Go Ape and the beautiful Castle Howard.

Stepping into the cottage the spacious lounge/diner welcomes you with open arms. There is a stunning Victorian open-fire just waiting to warm the room, TV/DVD and comfortable seating to relax in to after a long days exploring. The dining area is the perfect spot to enjoy breakfast and plan the day’s events. Leading through to the galley style kitchen which has everything you need for a home away from home stay, such as electric oven and hob, fridge with freezer box, and washing machine. The ground floor shower room with shower and WC, is situated through the kitchen. The steep winding staircase takes you to the first floor which offers a stylish double bedroom and additional dressing room with WC. Taking another set of steep winding stairs which leads to the converted loft space which is a twin bedroom. It is worth noting that the ceiling is sloped so ceiling height is restricted in places.

Outside there is a fully enclosed courtyard garden with patio, outdoor seating for those summer evenings when you want to stay at home. There is off-road parking to the rear of the property for one car, space is limited so it is not recommended for large cars.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Perfect cottage in a perfect location. We had dogs and the walks from here were brilliant, but not too far from York which was also a lovely along the river Bank

Great location for walking into York centre. Clean, well equipped cottage and lovely welcoming touches like the bottle of bubbles, crisps and chocs! It was ideal being able to park in the private space at the rear of the cottage, didn't need to use the car at all.

Green Cottage is in a lovely location only twenty minutes walk from the city centre with parking for a small car. The cottage is very comfortable with lots of homely touches and everything you could need provided for, we were very impressed. Lovely cottage and great location so left car and walked 15 min into York most days. Plenty of local shops and amenities in area. Very green and loved walking to York via the river. Great for dog. Parking at rear was very tight as mentioned but neighbours were lovely and kept us right. Small cottage but everything you needed. Delightful cottage in a great location. 10 mins walk from the centre of York and 5 mins from the River Ouse. Cafes, shops, pubs and lovely walks on the doorstep. Had everything we needed for our stay and a lovely welcome pack provided by the owners. Would definitely recommend. Stairs are very steep and narrow.

Loved this little home from home cottage, had everything we needed and very quirky. We found walking into York so easy and even though the weather wasn't brilliant it never spoilt it. Took around 20 minutes, either roadside or along the river. Look forward to our next visit definitely can't ask for a better place alround.

Lovely cottage, big enough for me, my partner and our small dog. Close to local shops and a 20 minute walk into York town centre and close to good walking spots! Hosts provided all the information we needed & provided a nice welcome gift too! Would highly recommend - suitable for couples with a small to medium sized dog.

A lovely cottage, extremely well located for exploring York. We loved the walk into town along the river path and having local shops nearby (Bakers/Spa Supermarket/Butchers) was a bonus. We cooked in twice and were very comfortable chilling out in the cottage.

Green Cottage was ideal for our short break in York. Very well presented the cottage easily accommodated 4 adults & our border collie. A nice 20-30 minute walk into York centre either via the riverside or along the main road was just right to avoid using the car. Parking to the rear of the cottage worked well even for my A6 estate. Lovely place to stay, its a good walk from York (due to the weather we chose to drive in) no problem with parking at the back - found the people at the end house very friendly when we asked if our car was in the right place. Fantastic location, only 15 mins to the Minster, handy shops either side of property. Downside was some traffic noise at night. Very nicely decorated and well equipped. Harrogate is a thriving, historic town at the heart of North Yorkshire and at the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. This fantastic town is a hit with culturists, historians and holidaymakers alike. Dubbed ‘The English Spa’ in 1596, the town boasts spa water high in iron, sulphur and salt. The Royal Pump Room is still open today as a museum, showcasing the original equipment that was used in its heyday. Two other major draws to the town are the Harrogate Convention Centre and the Great Yorkshire Showground. The former is a multi-purpose venue large enough to house huge conventions and business conferences. Many of the events are fan-based like the Lego-themed attractions and comic-cons. The latter is an outdoor venue that hosts even large events and shows, namely the agricultural Great Yorkshire Show.

Fancy a day of walking? Head to the Valley Gardens, home to a multitude of landscaped gardens that embrace different styles and influence. For further horticultural foray, head to the RHS Garden, Harlow Carr. The stunning gardens provide a leafy retreat where you can wander through woodland and alongside waterways.

The town centre is home to an array of boutique fashion shops, as well as high street favourites in and around the Victoria Shopping Centre. The Montpellier Quarter also offers exclusive shops and a huge range of antique dealers, ideal for hunting out a unique bargain. This fashionable spa town also plays host to many Michelin-starred restaurants too.
