The cottage was perfect for our family. The location was excellent as it was only 10 mins away from some amazing places to visit. Also was less than an hour away from the city of York which helped us get out and about in the evenings. Although there was some excellent places to eat in the surrounding villages. The cottage was very homely and the owner Nancy delightful. However I wouldnt recommend it for dogs as the garden wasnt secure and entailed going down 20 steep steps in the dark with dogs on lead whenever they needed the toilet. The location was great for visiting Harrogate Brimham Rocks Fountains Abbey etc

A comfortable, warm cottage although had no need to operate heating system via an open fire. Cottage could be described as being somewhat dated but for us it only added to the overall ambiance of this welcoming and spacious cottage cottage to which I had no complaints. Wonderful gardens. The lack of WiFi and a mobile signal and complete lack of locRead moreal facilities, be it shop or pub, could deter some but for us it was, again, a part of the overall character and enjoyment of our stay. Harrogate is a thriving, historic town at the heart of North Yorkshire and at the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. This fantastic town is a hit with culturists, historians and holidaymakers alike. Dubbed ‘The English Spa’ in 1596, the town boasts spa water high in iron, sulphur and salt. The Royal Pump Room is still open today as a museum, showcasing the original equipment that was used in its heyday. Two other major draws to the town are the Harrogate Convention Centre and the Great Yorkshire Showground. The former is a multi-purpose venue large enough to house huge conventions and business conferences. Many of the events are fan-based like the Lego-themed attractions and comic-cons. The latter is an outdoor venue that hosts even large events and shows, namely the agricultural Great Yorkshire Show.

Fancy a day of walking? Head to the Valley Gardens, home to a multitude of landscaped gardens that embrace different styles and influence. For further horticultural foray, head to the RHS Garden, Harlow Carr. The stunning gardens provide a leafy retreat where you can wander through woodland and alongside waterways.

The town centre is home to an array of boutique fashion shops, as well as high street favourites in and around the Victoria Shopping Centre. The Montpellier Quarter also offers exclusive shops and a huge range of antique dealers, ideal for hunting out a unique bargain. This fashionable spa town also plays host to many Michelin-starred restaurants too.
