A perfect escape for anyone wanting to discover North Yorkshire, set in a quiet area of Knaresborough yet close to superb walks and nearby character towns, a perfect base for business or pleasure.

This charming mid-terrace house is located in the picturesque market town of Knaresborough, 4 miles north-east of the Victorian spa town, Harrogate. Spacious and full of character, it will feel like a home away from home, whether you're in Yorkshire on business or for pleasure. As well as being close to the Harrogate Convention Centre and Yorkshire Events Centre, the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Beauty is within 10 miles, as are plenty of visitor attractions.

This traditional Yorkshire cottage is as attractive on the outside as it is on the inside. Heading through the hallway into the lounge, the tasteful traditional decor adds character and comfort, with the open fire providing the finishing touch. Moving through the spacious dining room, you will come to the large, well-equipped kitchen that leads out to the rear garden. Upstairs, there are three bedrooms (one king-size, one double and one bunk bed) and a family bathroom, which is in addition to the ground-floor shower room. Outside, a pretty garden offers the perfect spot for a morning coffee as the sun rises.

Steeped in history, Knaresborough is a wonderful market town with lots of narrow streets of shops and eateries to explore. It also has good transport links with York and London, via Harrogate. Sitting above Nidd Gorge, it has a castle, museum and what is thought to be England's oldest tourist attraction, Mother Shipton's Cave and Petrifying Well. Nearby Nidd Gorge (2 miles) offers a peaceful setting where you can enjoy the scenery and wildlife whilst taking a leisurely stroll. You could also visit RHS Garden Harlow Carr (6 miles).

Enjoyed our stay at Fenton house. Property was excellent. If you wanted to eat in plenty of equipment, also a washing machine. Location great easy to access lots of places around Yorkshire. We took our elderly parents and they said they enjoyed every minute of the break. Did park and ride for York so easy. We had a lovely week here. Not too far to walk into the lovely town of Knaresborough. You must visit the rever and Castle areas. Brought back many happy memories. The house was very comfortable with all the appliances you need for an English summer.

Fenton House was very comfortable and reasonably well equipped. It is on quite a busy road which took some getting used to but it didn't really present any problems. We always managed to park OK at the back of the property. We had a super week and found loads to do. Thank you.

The cottage is perfect with everything you need and lots of thoughtful touches. Being so close to the beach a washing machine would be great so you dont need to take home a weeks worth of sandy clothes. Loved it though , amazing house and will definitely be back!

Fantastic house, great to have two bathrooms/showers. Beds were very comfortable and the house was clean and well equipped. We also appreciated the practical provision of extra toilet rolls, salt, pepper, soap, washing up liquid etc; which sound like small things, but make your stay so much easier! :-)

A nicely located house within walking distance of town centre and rail station. The road is busy and you couldn't have the front windows open in the summer as it would be too noisy, but fine to keep them closed in October. Comfy beds and sofas etc and nice bathrooms and kitchen with easy parking at the back, but for size it felt overpriced for OctoRead moreber half-term week. Hide

Lovely house, well equipped, comfy and clean. Unfortunately, the A6055 is a very busy and noisy road. Location is a good base for many attractions.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Fenton House. It was very clean upon our arrival, and it is decorated and furnished to a high standard. We had no issues whatsoever. Location is handy for Knaresborough town centre, just a 10 minute walk. There's also a bus to Harrogate that goes along the road outside.

Harrogate is a thriving, historic town at the heart of North Yorkshire and at the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. This fantastic town is a hit with culturists, historians and holidaymakers alike. Dubbed ‘The English Spa’ in 1596, the town boasts spa water high in iron, sulphur and salt. The Royal Pump Room is still open today as a museum, showcasing the original equipment that was used in its heyday. Two other major draws to the town are the Harrogate Convention Centre and the Great Yorkshire Showground. The former is a multi-purpose venue large enough to house huge conventions and business conferences. Many of the events are fan-based like the Lego-themed attractions and comic-cons. The latter is an outdoor venue that hosts even large events and shows, namely the agricultural Great Yorkshire Show.

Fancy a day of walking? Head to the Valley Gardens, home to a multitude of landscaped gardens that embrace different styles and influence. For further horticultural foray, head to the RHS Garden, Harlow Carr. The stunning gardens provide a leafy retreat where you can wander through woodland and alongside waterways.

The town centre is home to an array of boutique fashion shops, as well as high street favourites in and around the Victoria Shopping Centre. The Montpellier Quarter also offers exclusive shops and a huge range of antique dealers, ideal for hunting out a unique bargain. This fashionable spa town also plays host to many Michelin-starred restaurants too.

There is a host of places to visit and spend time at in and around Harrogate. We have a selection of holiday homes that include chic apartments, elegant townhouses and cosy cottages for romantic stays to inspire your break in Harrogate. Why not visit our collection to find your perfect property?
