Contemporary holiday cottage located in the centre of the pretty town of Middleham, sitting on the outskirts of the picturesque Yorkshire Dales offering a combination of town and countryside at this retreat.

Sitting just behind the market square in Middleham of Wensleydale, you are within walking distance of a collection of welcoming pubs, cafes and shops to visit during your getaway. Just 2 miles away sits the charming market town of Leyburn, offering an archetypal slice of the Dales market town life - well worth a visit if you're looking to discover more traditionally British shops, pubs and cafes, and there's also a busy market on Fridays. Drive just 19 miles to arrive in the heart of Nidderdale, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, offering enviable countryside walks to be explored along with the National Trust Brimham Rocks and the monastic ruins of Fountains Abbey.

Step inside this luxury hideaway to discover quirky and contemporary interiors throughout, with a subtle hint of the lively style of the '50s and '60s. As you access the cottage from the rear, you'll step into a spacious kitchen diner, home to all the mod cons you'll need throughout your stay where you can cook up a storm before sitting down to enjoy formal dining as a group. Make your way through to the lounge, a homely room complete with a cosy wood burner at its heart, creating the perfect spot to retreat at the end of the day. Upstairs, take your pick from two bedrooms, both boasting comfortable king-size beds and plush furnishings and offering a wonderful oasis in which to recharge your batteries. A bright and spacious shower room is also located on the first floor.

Outside, guests can enjoy a charming courtyard offering fabulous views, taking advantage of its elevated position. Fire up the BBQ and dine alfresco around the table complete with water feature during the warmer months. During the summer, a snail canopy overhead ensures you are comfortable in the midday sun, with mood lighting offered so you can enjoy the outside space well into the evening. The cottage is beautiful and both the owners have thought very hard on the style and decoration of the property. It feels restful when you relax on a night and stylish. Harrogate is a thriving, historic town at the heart of North Yorkshire and at the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. This fantastic town is a hit with culturists, historians and holidaymakers alike. Dubbed ‘The English Spa’ in 1596, the town boasts spa water high in iron, sulphur and salt. The Royal Pump Room is still open today as a museum, showcasing the original equipment that was used in its heyday. Two other major draws to the town are the Harrogate Convention Centre and the Great Yorkshire Showground. The former is a multi-purpose venue large enough to house huge conventions and business conferences. Many of the events are fan-based like the Lego-themed attractions and comic-cons. The latter is an outdoor venue that hosts even large events and shows, namely the agricultural Great Yorkshire Show.

Fancy a day of walking? Head to the Valley Gardens, home to a multitude of landscaped gardens that embrace different styles and influence. For further horticultural foray, head to the RHS Garden, Harlow Carr. The stunning gardens provide a leafy retreat where you can wander through woodland and alongside waterways.

The town centre is home to an array of boutique fashion shops, as well as high street favourites in and around the Victoria Shopping Centre. The Montpellier Quarter also offers exclusive shops and a huge range of antique dealers, ideal for hunting out a unique bargain. This fashionable spa town also plays host to many Michelin-starred restaurants too.

There is a host of places to visit and spend time at in and around Harrogate. We have a selection of holiday homes that include chic apartments, elegant townhouses and cosy cottages for romantic stays to inspire your break in Harrogate. Why not visit our collection to find your perfect property?
