I have knocked off a star for comfort, simply because the sofa was rather low and too soft - my back suffered! Otherwise the place was faultless. The bed was extremely comfortable. The Cottage is very small but extremely well equipped. The very generous welcome pack was terrific (specially the sloe gin!) Thank you very much.

The only improvement I would suggest is that there should be some way of switching on the towel rail, which came on and off erratically during our stay. No other way of drying/ heating the shower room and towels. Otherwise this is a good cottage for two and has all you need. Fair value, and a nice scenic area off the Yorkshire tourist trail. The weRead morelcome basket was a nice touch. There was always hot water available. Hide

A lovely base for a holiday near York, within easy reach of shops, park and ride into York, restaurants, petrol station, cinema, bowling etc. The property is very clean/tidy and comfortable, with everything you could need for a self catering break. The owner is lovely, very welcoming and easy to find or get hold of if any questions.

Small but very well equipped cottage. The welcome basket was very generous and the owner Lesley was a lovely lady. We got great weather so the balcony overlooking the beautiful garden was a real bonus. Location was perfect, no more than 20 minutes travel to York, Helmsley, Ripon, castle Howard and lots more.

A pleasant cottage in a lovely area with an excellent pub within walking distance. Owner provided a nice welcome basket. Only criticism would be the kitchen area which was very small and had little storage or work surfaces.

Harrogate is a thriving, historic town at the heart of North Yorkshire and at the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. This fantastic town is a hit with culturists, historians and holidaymakers alike. Dubbed ‘The English Spa’ in 1596, the town boasts spa water high in iron, sulphur and salt. The Royal Pump Room is still open today as a museum, showcasing the original equipment that was used in its heyday. Two other major draws to the town are the Harrogate Convention Centre and the Great Yorkshire Showground. The former is a multi-purpose venue large enough to house huge conventions and business conferences. Many of the events are fan-based like the Lego-themed attractions and comic-cons. The latter is an outdoor venue that hosts even large events and shows, namely the agricultural Great Yorkshire Show.

Fancy a day of walking? Head to the Valley Gardens, home to a multitude of landscaped gardens that embrace different styles and influence. For further horticultural foray, head to the RHS Garden, Harlow Carr. The stunning gardens provide a leafy retreat where you can wander through woodland and alongside waterways.

The town centre is home to an array of boutique fashion shops, as well as high street favourites in and around the Victoria Shopping Centre. The Montpellier Quarter also offers exclusive shops and a huge range of antique dealers, ideal for hunting out a unique bargain. This fashionable spa town also plays host to many Michelin-starred restaurants too.

There is a host of places to visit and spend time at in and around Harrogate. We have a selection of holiday homes that include chic apartments, elegant townhouses and cosy cottages for romantic stays to inspire your break in Harrogate. Why not visit our collection to find your perfect property?
