This characterful converted barn is in the heart of a peaceful Yorkshire village which caters towards families and reunions wanting a spacious yet cosy and comfortable rural escape.

Set in the picturesque village of Green Hammerton with its ancient village green and pretty Georgian houses, a traditional pub, local stores and post office. Situated in Yorkshires famed ‘Golden Triangle’ it sits equidistant between the spa town of Harrogate, with the famous tea rooms and Turkish baths – and the ancient city of York with its beautiful minster, cobbled streets, wonderful shops, the Jorvik Viking Centre, National Railway Museum and first class racecourse. The stunning Yorkshire dales and the beautiful Yorkshire coast are within easy driving distance.

Enter the house from the garden in to the heart of the barn conversion, a spacious farmhouse kitchen which boasts plenty of appliances and space to cook and dine as a family with a large table and chairs. The kitchen overlooks the garden and has an electric range cooker and gas hob, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher and coffee maker. A separate pantry with sink, freezer, larder fridge and a utility room with washing machine and dryer can be found close by. Along the light and airy hallway, up its own flight of stairs is a self contained suite which offers a king-size zip-and link bedroom (can be made into twin upon request) and a separate sitting room with sofa, smart TV and small library of books, there is also an en-suite shower room with enclosed shower, sink and WC. Along this corridor you will find a games room complete with football table and dart board. Off from the kitchen in the snug area is a small dining area with easy chairs and books and is an ideal space to catch up on the day’s newspapers. There is also a charming sitting room in shades of greens and blues with sofa and comfortable chairs, providing a lovely spot to sit and relax. Double doors lead to the family sitting room with a large smart screen and deep comfortable sofas. This room also has a wood burning stove which is perfect for watching a family film around the roaring fire. Off from the main staircase the barn boasts a family bathroom with bath and separate shower you will also find four bedrooms a king-size bedroom with windows to the front and rear overlooking the garden and country lane. Further down the hall you will find a twin bedroom and a king-size bedroom with en-suite shower room, sink and WC. The final bedroom offers a stylish brass bed and overlooks the garden with a handy en-suite shower room with sink and WC.

Outside is the private walled garden with outdoor seating next to the well stocked borders around the lawn and large gas BBQ. There is private parking for three vehicles at the rear of the property

Beautiful cottage with ample space in quiet location. Very clean and they had thought of everything we might need. Pub and village shop just up the road but local supermarket is 10-15mins drive away. Easy drive to both Harrogate and York (15-20mins).

On arrival we were made very welcome by the owner. There was also a lovely welcome basket of local produce. The house was very comfortable, well spread out and offered our group of 7 plus 2 dogs all the space we needed. The house was very well equipped. Peaceful location, but not too far from towns and villages to visit in the area. Walks for the dRead moreogs on the doorstep, along with the local post office/store and pub. Where do we start?! We had a wonderful four nights at Barn House, 8 adults 1 toddler and 2 dogs. We arrived to a very warm welcome, the house is beautiful and so comfortable, theres so much space for all to enjoy, the house is equipped with everything! 7 of us went for the weekend, and we all loved the house and garden. Owners were very friendly and left fresh eggs, milk, tea, coffee, cake and bread as well as cooking oil etc. The house was supplied with everything you could think of. The house is beautifully decorated and fitted, and we all would like to go again at some time.

Barn cottage is so lovely! We stayed her for my hen party and it was just brilliant. Not far into York, so a brilliant location, but relaxing, quiet area. Literally a minutes walk to the pub. Just got back from a lovely weekend for my 60th birthday. There was 8 of us (4 couples) who stayed for the weekend. The Barn House is a lovely property in the perfect location. We had a lovely break, its a beautiful property spotlessly clean and very comfortable and we felt very welcome. Very well furnished and equipped holiday home. Owners met on arrival and on departure. Friendly and helpful. Property conveniently located. Our group consisted of two couples each with a toddler and grand parents. We all had a lovely time and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage.

This cottage is a must if you want a family holiday. You are really looked after by the owners without them being obtrusive. Helen welcomed us and gave us advice on places to visit. What a wonderful house! Perfect for our week away as a family with a toddler. We were so comfortable and it felt a real home from home. Harrogate is a thriving, historic town at the heart of North Yorkshire and at the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. This fantastic town is a hit with culturists, historians and holidaymakers alike. Dubbed ‘The English Spa’ in 1596, the town boasts spa water high in iron, sulphur and salt. The Royal Pump Room is still open today as a museum, showcasing the original equipment that was used in its heyday. Two other major draws to the town are the Harrogate Convention Centre and the Great Yorkshire Showground.
