Surrounded by rolling hills and far-reaching vistas, the 300-year-old cottage makes it easy to shake off the everyday and reconnect with nature. Keen walkers are spoiled with an endless choice of scenic trails passing the doorstep; on days you don’t fancy cooking, walk 1.5 miles to the local pub and enjoy a hearty Yorkshire feast. Waterfalls are popular in the area; enjoy a trip to East Gill Force (10 miles) or Aysgarth Falls (13 miles), both offering memorable picnic spots. For charming Yorkshire towns bursting with history and character, the likes of Hawes, Richmond, and Leyburn all await within 16 miles.

Before entering this historic property, take a moment to appreciate its stone-built exterior and the rolling views that stretch as far as the eye can see. Head inside and find that the rural charm continues in the form of exposed ceiling beams and other period features that blend with modern comforts. Kick off muddy walking boots in the hallway, then move through to the cosy lounge to rest weary feet. Here, sink into the soft furnishings, light the open fire, then flick on the TV or simply gaze out at the peaceful views. When stomachs begin to rumble, head through to the cottage-style kitchen/diner, where you’ll find everything needed to cook up Yorkshire feasts, which can be enjoyed at the dining table or alfresco-style out in the garden. Completing the ground floor is a handy utility room equipped with a washing machine and tumble dryer – perfect for mucky walking gear. At the end of each busy day away, head upstairs to choose from three restful bedrooms: a master king-size room and two welcoming twin bedrooms, all served by a well-appointed family bathroom.

Outside, the scenic garden is enclosed by a traditional stone wall, offering a splendid spot to play on the lawn or dine alfresco on the patio using the BBQ. Guests also benefit from secure bike storage and private parking for three cars.

The cottage was wonderful - it was so well equipped with everything. Plenty of games, laundry detergent, etc and the kitchen had everything you could possibly need - even a slow cooker. It was really cosy and held the heat well so we were never cold. Its a wonderful location but be warned, it is very high up! That makes for great views and walks, bRead moreut if you want to walk to the local pub, its a tough walk back! Not a problem if youre good with walking and dont mind doing that though. We had a lovely stay and the manager was very communicative! Hide
