THE COTTAGE AT NIDDERDALE

Summary

This spacious holiday cottage is ideal for a country lover - enjoying delightful wide ranging views across Nidderdale towards Brimham Rocks.  Just a short drive from Harrogate (about 8 miles) and Pateley Bridge (about 6 miles) and surrounded by beautiful walking countryside with a pub serving great food just a mile away.

Accommodation

The spacious farmhouse dining/kitchen has seating for 7 guests with French Oak dining suite and enjoys panoramic views of the open countryside.  The kitchen is fully equipped with a Cookmaster electric range cooker and Fridge/Freezer.   The downstairs bedroom offers an Edinburgh natural solid oak bedroom suite with a double bed and TV.    Spacious and comfortable lounge with ample sofa seating and patio doors to the garden and patio area.  2 steps up to a useful downstairs WC and basin.  Ground floor utility room provides boot store, washer, dryer and freezer.

Upstairs to 3 bedrooms - Master Bedroom contains a French Oak bedroom suite, comprising King Size bed, wardrobe and dressing table and enjoys wonderful views.  Bedroom 2 (2 steps down) with delightful French oak twin beds, dressing table and wardrobe.  Bedroom 3 contains a single bed, hanging space and chest of drawers.  All 3 bedrooms have TVs.  House bathroom with bath, waterfall shower over bath, shaver point and WC.

Outside to the front there is a BBQ area with garden furniture and ample parking for 3 cars.  To the rear there is a large lawned garden and patio area.  The Owners live next door and will be happy to show you their pygmy goats, horses and belted Galloway cattle.

Glorious Nidderdale is a hidden gem just a short drive from Harrogate and Ilkley.  It has everything for the visitor - leisurely pastoral walks along  the riverbank, energetic upland rambles across the moors, splendid reservoir views and villages with delightful tearooms and unspoilt country pubs serving great food - try the Royal Oak at Dacre Banks or the Station Hotel in Birstwith. It also has great historical interest - from prehistoric settlements to an industrial heritage based on water power.  Don't miss the hugely popular National Trust Brimham Rocks - a must! (check out our Things to Do page).

Reviews

I cannot recommend this cottage enough. We had a lovely holiday here with my little boy and my parents. The cottage was very well equipped & there was a very nice selection of toys already there which kept my little one happy whilst we unpacked and whenever we came back to the cottage. There was also a baby gate provided which really made it safe at the top of the stairs with a child and meant we could relax. The owners were lovely & very friendly & even brought the tractor over to show my boy which made his week. It was blissfully quiet & in lovely countryside. We experienced no problems with any noisy pipes or heating problems. It was lovely and warm & I had the best weeks sleep in 3 years there. The cottage is in a convenient location, peacefully out of any towns and in the countryside but also close enough to local places of interest by car. We made nice local trips to Knaresborough & enjoyed the crazy golf there. Skipton was also very nice with the canal and market. Harrogate is just beautiful & the National trust Fountains Abbey was one of the most impressive National trust locations I have visited. Would absolutely not hesitate to come back again with my husband. Many thanks to Michele and Andrew for making it such a relaxed stay for us.
