A great day out at England's Premier Agricultural Event!

A trip to The Great Yorkshire Show really is a fun day out for all the family and its highlights include show jumping, dancing sheep and celebrity chef demonstrations. There’s also tons of activities to keep children engaged and lots of shopping stands, many with special show offers on.

The first thing to do on arrival is to get a programme of events, head to the “Lifestyle and Food” section and grab a cuppa whilst you plan your day! You can enjoy the events in the Main Show ring either by grabbing a spot in the stand or more informally by putting down a rug on the side of the ring. The grand cattle parade is always a highlight and the show jumping at close quarters is thrilling! Continuing on an animal theme, the sheds housing the special breed cows and sheep are a really interesting way to get up close and see the farmers in action.

The Food Halls, also fill a happy hour or more, with lots of free artisan samples to feast on and cookery demonstrations by renowned chefs. In addition there are gadgets to buy you’ll never believe you used to function without! The shopping opportunities are endless, for outdoor gear, gardens and general country pursuits, many of the stalls offering products at specially discounted prices.

Finally, our top tip would be to wear comfy stout walking shoes as you’ll be amazed at the amount of walking you’ll do.
