View is a secluded haven in a peaceful, rural environment looking
towards the Dales. The property is on one level and sleeps 4/6.
(Taken together with adjoining Mill Cottage would accommodate
10).
Constructed
about 200 years ago as part of the Ripley Castle Estate, the
cottage retains many of its original features with beamed ceilings
and exposed brickwork. Part of a group of converted farm buildings
it has recently undergone extensive refurbishment of a very
high standard. It would suit families, walkers and conference
delegates, being an easy 10 minute drive from Harrogate and
the International Conference Centre. It is within walking distance/short
drive of the delightful village of Ripley with its historic
Castle and Park, the village store, gift shop, art gallery etc.
Excellent dining facilities are available at The Boars Head
Hotel/Bistro and the Castle Tea Rooms in the village courtyard.
Fountains Abbey, Bolton Abbey, Brimham Rocks, Studley Royal,
York and Knaresborough are all within easy reach, as are the
R.H.S Gardens at Harlow Carr. The cottage provides a convenient
touring base for the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, Herriot and
Emmerdale country. Short breaks out of season are welcome.
ACCOMMODATION:
At the end of the drive, an iron gate opens
onto a path past Mill Cottage leading to the private entrance
of Mill View. Entrance hall and beamed Lounge with French doors
to a pretty cottage garden with outside seating. Large contemporary
Kitchen/Dining Room. Dining table seating 6. American style
fridge/chiller/freezer, halogen hob and double oven, microwave,
dishwasher, and washer/ dryer. Master Bedroom (family suite):
Double bed and sofa bed, large built-in wardrobes and lounge
area with open fire. Bedroom 2: Twin beds. Exposed stone feature.
House Bathroom with bath (shower over), toilet, basin and shaver
point. Shower Room has walk-in shower, toilet and basin.
SERVICES:
Gas (LPG) central heating. Well equipped with linen and
towels. Large TV, dvd/cd players with a good selection of books,
dvds, and cds. Coal supplied for one fire Good garden furniture
but bring own barbecue. Double Garage and outside parking for
2 cars. NB This is a No Smoking house!
